welcome to my website!

I am a writer, educator, and storyteller, passionate about literature and the experiences that shape us. My journey with words began as an English literature teacher, where I had the privilege of inspiring young minds. I hold a degree in literature from one of Britain’s top ten universities, and over the years, I have poured my thoughts and experiences into writing, resulting in three books alongside my latest work, Glory Days.

about the author

I am proud to be part of the Indian/Bengali diaspora, born and raised in the UK. My heritage plays a vital role in my storytelling, as I explore themes of identity, migration, and cultural connections. Much of my inspiration comes from my mother, who was also a writer. Her influence shaped my love for literature, and I carry forward the tradition of storytelling that has been passed down through generations in my family.

As a tribute to her, I have included her book covers and book jacket here on my website. Her book beautifully captures the migrant experience, symbolised by the two rivers—the Thames in the UK and the Padma in India/Bangladesh. These rivers represent the journey between her birthplace and the country where she later lived, mirroring the paths many migrants take as they seek new beginnings.

about the book

The story is about five friends who are undergraduates at university from vastly differing backgrounds, many of whom are from broken homes and who have had to overcome trauma at a very early age.
There are jelly fights, water fights and youthful pranks but there is also much soul-searching about the meaning of life, theism v. atheism, and the differences in perspective between a child from a happy home and a child from a broken one.
There is angst around the end of adolescence and the emergence of a new adult identity for the five friends, Emma, Danita, Rob, Carys and Craig, as the adult world beckons, a world of duty and responsibility in which they will have to be ” a cog in a corporate machine, ” and leave their youthful exuberance behind them.
Will the youthful friendships they have forged over three idyllic years in the safe bubble of a campus university last forever or will the pressures of the real world come between them and turn friends into strangers?
